Howdy
I traced an electrical fault with the EF back to this thingame which sits between the steering wheel and the indicator/light stalks. The wires go to the airbag, horn and cruise on the steering wheel. There is no 12V at this plug, however there is power at a similar plug on the back of this gadget. I have tried reasonable force to remove them. Can someone tell me the correct way to disconnect this plug? Also are there any surprises with this round 'device'. Is it going to fly apart like a jack in the box if I open it? ciao

Jeez its not an airbag thingy is it? be careful....

G'day it's a clock spring, you don't pull it apart un plug it at the airbag/horn end, and unplug it at the other end down towards the foot well.
It's what allows your steering wheel to turn, and your functions to work, it has a certain amount of ribbon cable wrapped in it, and can fail.
