hi all
i have a 95 ef 6 on gas, 5speed with following mods pacemaker headers redback 2.5" system K&N pannel filter stage2 crow cam EL GT snorkel and all the other extras XR6 plugs good leads etc.... i have had it on the dyno and got around 130 rwkw on 91 octane pump fuel and 125 rwkw on 100 octane pump gas What i really want to know is, are these figures good for what i hav done or should i expect more? i have seen posts from others with simular mods but get up around the 150 mark? what may i be doin wrong? or what can i change to skweez out those other few kws like the others any help will be good. |

thats a pretty good result, without doing cam and highflow cats and stuff, its not bad.
what torque was it putting out? thats the real figure to worry about, killowats mean bugger all torque is where its at. I've seen everyting from people getting p****d when their car puts out 110kw atthe bags with a gut load of mods, to cars getting figures up round the 150's with minimal mods. so your bang in the middle

Depends on the condition of engine. (compression, balence, clean intake etc)
The rwkw sounds close to the norm for your mods (130>140), I gained around 5rwkw by removing the gas mixer infront of the throttlebody, did you try that ? Another thing to note, dynos are tuning tools, i can pull two VERY differant numbers on two differant dyno's. |

ok well its due to go back to the shop for another tune and power run as i had a few vac leaks the engine has done the best part of 300,000kms with only the head cleaned up when i did the gasket so it might be all i should expect from it, the next step is a gas research kit and maybe look at a power/thorque chip any suggestions?
i am not sure on the thorque output then 500 comes to mind but i am doutful of that lol |

130RWKW seems pretty reasonable for the mods you have done...

Those figures are pretty spot on. Generally a 5spd manual will pull an extra 5-10rwkw on a dyno over an auto with the same mods due to drive train loss. So yours is 130RWKW and a Auto would be 120-125RWKW.
Cheers.../..

As everyone else has been saying, thats about right.
Mine made 130rwkw give or take (different dynos) with just a smallish cam, CAPA chip & Intake/exhaust.

i think it's very well considering it's on gas, the mixer ring costs power.
