I've been reading a lot of articals and mods from this site for a little while now and have found some very interesting stuff so firstly Thank-you to all the people who have posted mods and ideas.

Anyways I visited my old work yesterday to do a few things.. by the end of the day I thought I might as well chuck my car on the dyno seems its there and I've never had it on there before... mainly cos' its a family not a sports car (in my opinion). well... I was guessing I'd cop about 105-110 on the dyno.. I nearly s**t myself when the figures came upto 142.5rwkw's
so I'll tell you what my car has done to it..

1) it was a stock 96' EF 5spd, 3:23 s/s, 120k's on the clock..

after around 8 months of owning this car... I ended up with:
1, Reco Tickford Head, new valves springs etc. EF XR6 Cam
2) Mock supplied me with A 'spec' AU head Gasket, Bolts, and other bits
3) RedBack 2.5" cat back Exhaust (with muffler on the rear)
4)PH4499 Pacemakers combined with a stock (rooted) Cat.. I say rooted cos when I installed the headers and the cat was cut to suit I couldn't see any light thru it... funds stopped me from purchasing a Hi-Flo.
5)New Injectors
6)and finaly a 3:23LSD

the only other things I have done are the usual au intake snorkle and cleaning of the TB, however when i installed the head I thought I may as well polish the guts of the plenum while the head is spotless.. it seem like a good idea..

I was so impressed even the owner of the Motorworks shop was supprised (its a porsche specialist) He claimes some of his clients have dyno'd their cars elsewhere and have had higher figures than his.. The dyno is relativley new and is supposed to be very, very accurate.

No wonder the old Falcon can chirp in second when i give it the foot (i thought nothing of it) but then again... its quicker than others i have driven.

ok, I have no idea on how to post a picture, so I'll just write what i see.

1st run (3rd Gear)
145.2kw @ 133km/h (around 5800rpm). Peak Torque 4350N @ 105km/h

2nd run (4th Gear)
142.0kw @ 165km/h, (speed limiter stopped at that but it wasn't climbing any more). Peak Torque 3300N @ 118km/h

so... I dunno Have I got a freak of a car, everyone else tells me I goes like stink, but then again I don't like to trash it either

ask Q's if you like Im finding this very interesting (as i expected the everage readout)

BTW: Im still smiling and have laminated the A4 print. lol

thats insanely high for a 6cyl falcon.

can you check your torque numbers again for us. they are wrong.

welll you should go back to the dyno place and ask them to fix it.

you can not have that much torque with that amount of power,

I perfectly understand that i can't have 4000+ nm torque
perhaps its 450?

I've done some searching and other dyno's are printed out exactly the same as the one i have..
so before I get on my tricycle and complain to a friend to fix his maybe not incorrect shootout I'll get some more answers

well either way 435nm on that car is way too low....

my eb11 makes 348nm @ 3750rpm and 148kw @ 4500rpm

but kw reduces 20% or something and tourque increase but *% and like well yeah,,,, it just doesnt add up

u can basically ignore any torque values on a dyno.
look at the curve, and thats it.
the numbers are useless.

are we talking impressed about the torque or the kw?

assumings thats fwkw, then its pretty spot on, if its rwkw, then you littleripper

It sounds like a good one but don't get over excited.

The newtons force and Nm are not interchangeable so foorget about the torque readings.

The peak power at 133kmh in third at 5800rpm is a bit hard to believe. At 133 kmh in third you should be pulling 4750rpm? The cut out is 5700rpm on the EF?

The peak power in fourth at 165kmh then would be 4570rpm.

This all tells me you have a pretty standard power curve and I would guess the dyno is reading much higher than you might get elswhere. With the mods u have i would have given you 115-125rwkw honestly.

keep the laminated print out but i feel that if you ran a dyno day against other falcons on the same dyno same day in shootout mode you might be disappointed.

If this works... its the readout (obviously)

his mods aren't too far off yours though really - and you've got 142rwkw as a dyno figure - if his engine is running well, then theres no reason as to why it couldn't be putting out those figures!
