There were some flow tests done somewhere., I can't find the results so can't back up what I say, but from memory the EF intake flowed better than the EL unit and if I remember rightly there was stuff all between the EF and the 3" Mandrel pipe. The EF intake can be fitted to the EL but you need the Rocker cover bolts from an EF to mount it. I put an EF Intake on my wifes EL Wagon and I think it now idles better as well as being a little more responsive. This included the top of the EF airbox as these are different to the EL. The reason I changed was for another reason but I think the EF unit looks muck better than the EL.
Thats the kinds of answer I was after thanks. I don't think I'll bother, but it was something to think about. |

mate the ef has a 3' hole in the back of the box where the el has a 2.5' hole and the only restriction ion the el system is in the first pipe coming from the box and the back plate on the box the rest is good. i've done my research and had all three system's on my car and found the best is a custom one, so i have now: a el rubber elbow from the throttle body, and custom 3' polish pipe to the airbox, and last of all the 3' ef box adaptor plate. and is dynoed proven to be the best one on my car so far.

Very interesting. I didn't realise the EF and EL airbox outlets were different sizes!
Unfortunately, this seemed to be the first item to go, at Pick and Pay-more. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled, and see if I can make it a project cheers |

BA is probably the best way to go Casey, short of 3" mandrel bent, etc, etc..

EF one definately looks better too. Somehow the rocker cover looks better when you're hiding half of it, lol.

BA Intake is better imo..... basically the same as a mandrel bent intake and comes with recessed section over the bbm for better bonnet clearance..

EL looks far better, I put one on my EF
f**k all difference but ill claim slightly better throttle response. Also, the EF is one giant bbq hotplate for the rocket cover, i swear i could cook breakfast on it after a moderate drive. |

ive had the ba one on my au and i've had quite a few people buy these ba ones as it it simple to throw in and does pick up a couple of kw's.all ya need to get is a straight bit of aluminum pipe.too easy, the difference is only marginal but its a difference.lol
