im not sure if this is the place to put it but what is a better option??

Keep current EF and in 3-4 months time spend about $5000-$6000 on doing it up or in 3-4 months time sell the EF and upgrade to a late model AU series falcon and do that up later down the track??

Unless its a series 3 AU I would steer clear of the AU, not my choice of car. The TS50 and TE50 are a nice car, as well as a XR8 or XR6 series III, but I'd be more inclined to wait for a bit and invest in possibly a BA Fairmont Ghia, BA Fairmont or BA XR.

Thats just my opinion and i'm sure your gonna get many varied opinions, but in the long run its how much $$$ you got and what you personally like....I guess the only person you can ask the question is yourself.

Personally I don't think that the AU's look more much more modern or anything than the EF. Both cars you won't get money back for the mods when it comes to sell. AU's resale seem to be not so flash and the shape wasn't very popular - personal preference, I like it, but many don't.
I'd just keep the EF and start working on it.

Ride: HOT EL

Location: Berwick
VIC, Australia

Hope this helps
I have both a EL Fairmont and a AUIII XR8 5 speeder.

The EL is just a I6 but it is a fairmont, so it is nice and plush (lol) it is low, dark tint and 2.5 pipe. Oh yeah and a shift kit. Goes nothing like the AU

The AU nice car, (it is in BluePrint) goes like a cut cat, handles well and you go through rear rubber like nothing, and that is with out trying.

My thoughts. I love the AU's speed and the 5 speeder. however, i think the EL is a much better looking car and for everyday use i like it better.

That is my option, tell me i am crazzzzzzyyy and i would posably agree.
Hope this helps, if you want any more info or live around here you are more then welcome to come and play with both to help you make up your mind.

keep the EF and do it up.
The AU is the ugliest Falcon to ever roll off a production line... (Just my opinion - no offence AU lovers)

EF looks way tougher, and doesnt look like a C**k on wheels as the AU does.. ha ha

ef looks better.
au revs freer and if u get the series 2 or 3 u get twinpot brakes out the front, don't even think abt gettin a series 1 s**t brakes and everyone i've seen rattles like anythin after abt 100k. oh and make sure that all the recall work has been done if u go an au.

AU has a flash tuner in development, a definate plus if you are looking at engine mods. EF/EL will be some time, particularly for the I6 boys and girls.

AU likely to delay inevitable component failures for a few years. Expect plenty of stuff to start going wrong with the EF soon...

None taken.

I can't say I've driven an EF/EL, the last Falcon before my AU XR6 was an ED.

The AU definately wins out although i miss my luxo crap from my ED Fairmont...

In hindsight I would have bought a s2/3 AU, due to the better brakes but otherwise I love the car. If you're thinking of an XR, def upgrade, if it's a forte don't bother. Even the fairmont's (in a series 1 anyway) don't rate that much of a mention.

My AU has been good with the only major problems being ones I've inflicted from going to WSID eg killed the clutch.

The EF/EL definately has an overall better shape on the eyes (except for the AU XR series).

This prob hasn't helped you at all in your choice lol.
