Hey guys. First timers here.
I got an EF GLi from a friend cheap. But im not really happy with what the beast can do. Id like it to go a little harder but am unsure in what i should do to it. Any idears with some prices???

BTW i got the car for $1800 cause he was going to trade in for BA and he was going to get $1500 so i offered $1800. Its done 275'000Km's. I also got a complete EF Fairmont set of seats from my old work for $100 because the original ones were raped.

Cheers

If it's auto, the best mod for it would be a 5 speed conversion followed by a 3.45 final drive ratio. Auto Falcons suck balls off the line :)

If you've got the cash that is...

Failing that, a cam (JMM, Alted, whatever), extractors and exhaust is the way to go.

As mentioned in the link above, there are a few companies that can sell you that package for a reasonable price.

Take a look at:

www.jimmockmotorsport.com

Their DEV kits are great (in my opinion). I have a DEV3HL cam in my EF XR6 (as well as a s/s exhaust, hi flow cat and intake mods) and it pumps out 149rwk (I'm going to have it dynoed again, becuase I reckon she will pump out more than that next time around).

Either way, keep us posted.

high k ford can be good but you have to treat them with some care, make sure to do your maitenance, general motor serviceable bits, gearbox serice, and suspension so things wont go pop if you drive it hard.

good luck with it.
rushed.

Have you driven a 5 speed e-series Falc back to back with an auto e-series Falc? They're like two different animals :)

Yeah considering the 5-speed but means taking it over the pits.
its been treated with some care. The Trans and diff fluid was recently changed and i just did the oil 500ks ago.
It badly needs new tyres but what can you do.

give the engine a freshen up [rebuild]. Can be done for a couple of grand. Dont go stupid on it, just a standard rebuild with a decent cam, and caold air induction/panel filter upgrade.

Read the sticky at the top of the forum for some more ideas.

Hope that helps.

I was told by a mechanic here in SA that you have to take the car to regency park to get all the work checked out before you can register the car again as a manual not an auto. Thats what i mean by taking it over the pits. BUT id love it a manual. I wonder if my old work (Lonsdale Auto Wreckers - Brodie Rd North) has any probably not.
