a good condition well maintained T5 shouldn't be a bucket of backlash (read: operator error)
a V8 dunnydore probly would go better with a new auto but not na 4ltr falcons.

no the t5 is not a bucket of backlash, its the xtra hvy duty ceramic 5puk i have that has created the driveline backlash....... LOL love the signature btw

there is no way "standard" an auto on a n/a 4lt will accelerate as quickly as a t5 can.

well you would think so, my falc has nearly 300000ks on it. still goes hard. i sumtimes wonder about the auto, while it doesnt slip, when its warmed up, if i accelerate harder than normal and dont lift off accel it will chirp in second gear. it also more snaps int second and third when going normal.rather than slugs into it. wauld like a 20b in it just to be different, actually even a 13b turbo would go well enough. glutton for punishment i guess.

stock auto ? might want to start looking into a replacement.. ? how long has it acted like that ?

a clutch shouldn't create backlash though would it? when it's out it's out, when it's in it's in, how are those uni's doin ?

yeah i havent really had it up to have a look, i know the ceramic clutch deals a fair bit of punishment when i drop it to do a launch, after about 3days of having that and the manual in after the conversion i started getting this really loud clack, ca-clack ca-clack, had it looked at and was told its backlash, it does it all the time, clutch in and clutch out if i dont baby the clutch when i change, im pretty upset about it coz it really makes my car look like a pile of sh!t in a car park.... when you ease the throttle and mid accelerate in any gear you can feel through the gearstick how long it takes to take up the backlash, its unbelievable.... anywayz a 13b in a tank falcon, ouch :P that poor thing...!

well a 13bturbo puts out over 170kw, 320nm torque, give or take. i think a 20b would be good, hard to find tho, and expensive. as for auto, it doesnt seem to slip, goes into gear easy just fast, not much slip on change.
