Ive heard talk of this. But I don't know much.
I hear EF's have the wiring in place for full sequential injection, however they use batch fire instead. I also hear a rewiring is possible (AU ECU needed maybe? I don't know) The reason I ask is I have been told by Sprint gas today that my Sequentially Injected Gas system will never work properly on my batch firing car and that it should have never been installed.. Just considering my options here.

I have heard the same - you would need an AU1 ECU.
Not sure if wiring is the same. I haven't actually heard of anyone having done it though.

jmm do a sequential setup for the e-series but its like $2000 or something. Alot of money for so little gain.

I have heard of easier DIY methods myself. JMM charging $2000 for such things wouldnt suprise me though.

but Au has same power as Ef/el?
what is the gain? GREAT !!!! so the EF will never run gas injection properly? I have an AU LPG ECU if it can be fitted I may try it!

Well oddly enough, they did get it running pretty f**k well (I cant notice any real diff from petrol)
By there is high degree of custom tuning involved. and generally these systems arent supported by installers in pre Sequential engines.

Yes the gains from moving to sequential from batch are not substantial. but would certainly make life easier for anyone wanting to fit sequentially injected gas equipment to E series cars.

the gain is fuel economy. Au;s are supposed to do 11.5 around town and 6.8 on the freeway. Ef/Els do 7.5 and 12.5. although the motor has a bit 2 do with it. very refined and smooth.

The Terry is really good on fuel.
If I had of known this years ago I would have gotten busy with it. Anyone got an au wiring diagram? I could just drop in the Au computer and see if it runs?

Reviving a bit of an old topic again here but can anyone say if the EF/L wiring loom is significantly different to the AU1? I'm assuming it wouldnt be a straight swap.
There were actually some really good posts on FM about this conversion once but since the search function is pretty incomprehensible at the moment I cant seem to dig anything up.

The loom is significantly similar. Difference to note is that AU uses a TMAP sensor - so Map is different to EF.
Has anyone thought about trying to modify the programming on the ef using theJ3 chip and a different US rom? - there are quite a few sequential roms available.. just need to tweek it a little.. |

Search is easy to get around.. I never use the fordmods search as it was pretty lame even when it worked. Go to google, and put in your search term.. then hit space and paste: site:fordmods.com after the search term... google will then only search fordmods for your terms. really interested in the AU ECU and motor swap.. that would be a cool one to do. rgds Frank |

If that works then that would be awsome
