the smart lock is also deactivated by the door locks, if you stick a 30 cm steel ruler between the glass and the window seal its easy to unlock the door (5 to 10 sec if you know the right place a young chick once showed me how to do it, when i locked my ea keys in at the supermarket, i was impressed and a little turned, love a chick who now's her way around a car ) then it takes about 2 mins to undo the two lugs on the sterring lock (Small screw driver and a small hammer) then undo the one flat screw on the holding the ignition switch (in seconds) put a screw driver in the slot in the ignition switch turn and there away, oh yer and i did bang the nice helpfull blonde turned out locking keys in a car isnt allways a bad thing

Spot on there. Plus, that opens up the option of an insurance job if the thing ever pisses you off

yeah im thinking insurance is an absolute definate...
and yes the locks r easy to pick...a locksmith told me he can get into an EF and drive it away in 16sec.....he said the "stupidlock" was pointless as its not a proper immobiliser as all u need is to turn the barrel somehow...

if u got the cash do a Transporter style immobilizer. a nice pop up touch screen then punch in a code and that activates all the necesseray electronics to get the car moving.
what am i talking about my EA doesnt even have remote central locking. phong =P~

DaveHimself: Kill switches are pretty straight forward, just make sure its hard for others to find, and when you activate it, nobody can see you're obviously flicking a switch.
Just had a look in my engine bay to take a pic for you of where to cut, but the plug in question is obscured by my LPG crap, so i'll just have to explain it. Against the firewall, behind the injector rail (around about the location of the fuel pressure regulator) is a round cannon type plug with several wires going into it from the fuel injector plugs. If you look at your injector plug wires, you'll see that each plug has a Red wire (mine are a bit discoloured pink from heat), and another coloured wire (Tan, White, Brown/Yellow, Brown/Blue, Tan/Black, Green/Orange). All the red wires going to each injector meet together along the loom before the cannon plug. You need to cut the RED wire just before it enters the canon plug. Leave yourself some length so you can crimp or solder - whatever you prefer. Now just run two wires into your car to your switch, connect them to the ends of the newly cut wire, and all done. Insulate the wires etc etc. Just made up a quick pic in MSPaint. No laughs please Also note that this red wire also supplies power to your idle speed controller - just FYI And make sure you are cutting the correct wire! Trace it from the wires on the injectors to be sure, as other wires might look similar, or have a stripe etc. PM me if you need any more help.

i can verify that autobarn suck at installing car alarms, mines in the drivers footwell kickpanel, so all a theif has to do (assuming they know the pinout for the alarm) is to unplug it and bridge a few wires, one day when i get the chance im gonna pull it all out and install it properly.

seriously some of you are f**k idiots plain and simple. No need for the language, but i really do agree with you. This is a really stupid thread, if a car theif can steal a car, they can also go to an internet cafe and look at this thread, and find out everyones dirty little secret locations for fuel cutoffs, injector cutoffs, spark cutoffs, how they all work, and how they are wired up. And lets no forget the author of the blonde story, mate you have just written the best newseller: 'stealing falcons for dummys.' - In 30 seconds, learn how to open a smartlock car with a ruler, then how to drive off into the sunset in it. I mean really, some people dont think. This site is open for everyone to look at, including car theifs.
