My starter motor is throwing out and turning the motor over for about 2 to 5 seconds then it seems to disengage from the flywheel and spins freely or it seems not to engage at all on the flywheel and spins freely the question's i have has is.
1. has anyone had a simular problem at all.
2. what starters fit a ef.
3. what are the better starters if any.
4. what are the prices for one.

I had that exact problem, i picked up another starter motor from a wreckers (was about $40 from memory) and problem solved!

I know any E-series 6 cyl starter motor will bolt up - there are others that will bolt up too, but i can't remember from which models... I've heard that EF starter motors are more powerful than others, but not by much. Not sure if it's worth hunting for, a starter motor is a starter motor in my eyes...

All 6cl starters going back to around XY will fit EF. The "small" ones are more powerful than the large ones. Ringwood auto parts on Ebay sells the "small" imitation Bosch starter new for around $100 delivered.

Yeah i have the same problem with my starter motor on the EF. Now i know the clutch gear is stuffed it makes life easier.

It gets kind of annoying when you want to start the car and bammmmm...all you hear is starter motor spinning and no turn over....

might look into that these holidays.
