Hey all,

Just wondering if replacing my stock ECU with an EF Tickford ECU would give me any benefits ...or problems?

What do you think?

do a search, this has been covered so many times, in a nutshell you will get better shift points, no speed limiter and better running if you have a cam compared to stock

i kno that if you put just the xr tickford chip in your car it will make a difference in performance, as my mate has done it to his ef and had no probs. not sure what would happen wen putting the entire ecu in tho?

OK, cheers mate.

This is the item here:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... %3AIT&rd=1

Is this equivalent to an XR6 ECU? ...and will this just plug straight in, in place of my stock ECU with no probs?

no you dont but if you plan on doing over 180 then an alloy tailshaft is highly recomended because the stock ones are prone to failing hence why the limit is there

So it's definitely an XR6 ECU then?

OK for AUTO transmission?

I may be able to get one for $20 from the wreckers ...better price?

I'm not planning on doing over 180 km/hr very often, but I am planning to team it up with an RPD Stage 2 cam ...what do you think?

Sorry to be a pain ...but I'm only guessing when it comes to ECU's.

just wondering how does it actually give you better shifts points, when in an auto your either going through the gears or your in drive and the car will either shift when u ease of the accelerator or when it redlines?
