I wouldn't use that Ebay waterpump. You may find even a Repco one wont work as well as a genuine one.
Buy a genuine one. Ask Papa Smurf if he can help you out. They aren't that expensive. |

The pulley can be removed and pressed onto the new pump, but its not normally worth bothering.

Not sure how hard it would be even with the special tool. So really they just charged you a little more for convenience. Pulleys are about $30-50 on it's own (depending on chrome or standard pulley I guess). If you plan on changing your power steering pump next, get one with a pulley pressed on, removing the original pulley can end in breaking the pulley since it is rather more fragile than a water pump one.

You think $90 is alot for a water pump?????? tight as a fishes a***hole comes to mind.
Lucky you own a falcon as spare parts are cheap. Alot of other cars you'll be paying close to $200 for a water pump. |

The only reasn I wrote this up was because it was 40 just for the pump yet they want another 50 bucks just for a plastic pulley on the front, and im not really a tight a** my pump only had a leaking gasget so I decided no point just pulling the thermos out and taking it off just for that ill just replace it, saves packing it in 4 months down the track

If you guys compare a repco water pump for a falcon & a genuine one, you will see little if any difference.
Best aftermarket water pump is a GMB I have found, but the repco one's are good too. Falcon water pumps are cheap by most car's standards. Go price up a water pump for a Gen 3 v8! Or even a little car like a mighty boy. Hold onto your hat or sit down when asking the price. Cheers ToranaGuy

On my old Cleveland I never bought a water pump, I always bought the repair kit and replaced the parts. You need a hydraulic press, but.

They don't make water pumps like that anymore, which is a shame, throwing a whole pump away for the sake of say 20% of it's metal needing to be replaced is wasteful. Having said that it's quicker to slap on a new pump & get it running again. Cheers ToranaGuy

Only to find you either can't or have damaged the pully anyway. After all that, suddenly the extra $50 looks pretty good |
