Hey guys
I had to remove my intake manifold to do one of my welsh plugs now ive put everything back together and it wont start at all, like it wont even try to kick over. all electrical wires are plugged back in except one red wire that runs at the back of the intake near the firewall. i couldnt find where that plugged into and i didnt unplug it when i took the manifold off so i figured it must be used as there are other plugs not used around there. so would this red wire be causing my car not to start and if so where does it connect. it is just a single wire which would just slide on to a flat connecter. cheers |

flat plug goes on the top of the starter iirc.
disconnect battery first.

Check fuses etc check all looms are plugged in, check ya never popped wires of the starter etc etc

The red wire will be for your starter solenoid? i dislodged mine when i changed intake manifolds, and had some headscrathcing to do till i figured out what was going on

thanks guys Just make sure you unplug the battery as Krytox suggested. A lot of current goes to that thing and you don't want to accidentally short and get 3rd degree burn. phong =P~

The relay may have gotten stuck after attempting to start it so once he tried to plug the red cable back in, it may just spark *shrugs*. Better to be safe IMO.

Better to be safe IMO. phong =P~ Not only that, Its the fuel side, even the slightest spark around that area with a fuel leak is not good, How? starter current wire is not switched messing with screwdrivers/sockets around there when the battery is connected is not a good idea. My reasoning was merely for safety, even an auto in gear with a small slip could turn in to a catastrophe.
