Hey guys recently bought a EF xr6 with 207xxxkms, i have a few problems.

It seems to sit at about 3 quaters tempreture (sitting on N-O), and it gets to that tempreture after about 2 minutes of driving even in the cold, also noticed that its starting to blow small amounts of blue-ish smoke when i start it every now and then, also when i give it a bit of stick on the open road, but not always, It also seems to be running extremly rich, id be lucky to get 200ks to the tank. When starting it sometimes it leaves black marks and small water drops on my driveway from the exhuast tip (downwards tip)

i have been doing a bit of researching but seems everything is diffrent. theres no water in the oil and no water in the oil.

A couple of things you can try for nothing are, pull out your thermostat a place in a glass container with a thermometor then heat up to see the thermostat opens when it should. Second disconnect your battery for an hour to reset your ecu to see if this helps with running rich. Good luck.

blue smoke could be valve stem seals or piston rings worn

running rich could be a dead map sensor (computer diagnosis would be a good place to start, see tech docs under the resource button at the top of the page)...

flush the cooling system... have the radiator tested for blockages...

I disconnected the battery for 30 mins, and connected it back up, idles smoother and runs a little cooler, but it has lost so much power... ?

done a computer diagnosis like i said? It must have codes in it... I bet disconnecting the battery has lost the memory codes in now... But try and get any live codes out of it... You'll be helping us help you...

Ill try and get the codes, but im not very familuar with stuff like this, didnt see any smoke at all today..

Still havnt got the codes yet, im not the smartest person and sorta dont understand the tutorial... also noticed a rattling sound when reving over 4k... timing chain?
