Drove down to the bottle store, was running fine prior. Bought some booze & then it would turn over but not fire up. Got a mate to come tow it back & while on the rope, stuck it in 3rd & it fired up & ran mint.
Got back home, switched it off & again it cranks but won't fire up Fuel pump? Smartlock perhaps? |

Have checked all solders with a heat gun this afternoon, seems to have solved my central locking problem but upon further inspection (fuel pump relay is ok, have checked that) I appear to have no spark. I must have spark when driving though as the car tow starts

Pump is priming fine?
Getting spark when cranking? What nick is the coil in? Dont think it could be smartlock, i thought smartlock was a spark cutter (ie wont run regardless) Have you checked the relay next to the fuel pump relay? Ecu relay? Could even be some dodgy leads.

ECU relay is working fine, still not 100% about fuel pump still but definitely no spark. Pulled out CAS on front of motor & cleaned it, no change
Did I mention it tow starts.... |

Fuel pump fail would mean that it wouldn't have fired up from tow...
No spark could be Crank Angle (which you've tried) or the coil pack issues. Since mounting mine up on top of passenger wheel arch I've had a couple of firing issues, but only on a few cylinders and only becuase the actual loom plug from computer is dodgy. By no spark you mean that you pull a lead out and hold against side of block and there's no spark...? When "tow" starting (crash starting) it runs fine on all six? Replace CAS... Replace CAM ANGLE SENSOR? Crikey d**k, if starter is turning engine and fuel is running and the thing runs after crash starting.... Well....... |

how well does it crank over??
if it tow starts its got fuel and spark.. bad voltage or slow cranking from poor battery connection or s**t battery could cause low or no spark at cranking. have you checked voltage at the coil pack while cranking? |

Flatmate got home with his test light so hooked that up on number 1; its got spark so going with toast battery. Will throw a new one in it tomorrow & try again. Hoping its a low voltage issue

it does sound like a smartlock issue, before changing the battery, pull the codes from the ecu and see if its showing a code for immobilization

The return line is not pressurised. It is a bleed to maintain rail pressure.

Get some one to Squirt some fuel into the throttle body while you are trying to start it. If it fires then you have a fuel issue, my bet being the ECU not giving signal to the injectors, If it doesn't fire you have an ignition issue,
