What oil should i run in my 3.45 lsd ef xr6 diff?
Ive just put ls 90 in mine and its noisy because apparently the normal 3.23 lsd runs the ls 90 oil and the xr6 is meant to run 80-140.
These are the oils that my gregorys manual recommends.
Does this sound about right? :?

I use Castrol SAF-XA SAE 80w-140 GL5 limited slip differential oil

Your looking at around $30p/l for it.

Any ranging from LSX90 - Hypoid 80-140 will do.

A lot of people use Penrite Limslip 90 or higher. I've used it, but i think for some reason its way to thick.

If its oil, its great! hell throw a banana peel in there if its noisy.

Also, if the diff centre chatters, you may need a friction modifier.
Penrite also supply this.

im lead to believe that way thicker oil will revive a worn LSD for a little while. is this true?

It can improve the lsd making it tighter with the thicker viscosity.

But at the end of the day, if its worn it needs lapping.

2 other a*** ways:
Swap the cones over left to right and pray for the best.
Figure 8 reverse driving alowing the cones to 'bite' backwards.
