Hi, i have just fitted an EF XR6 engine into an EF Futura, as soon as the ignition is switched on the thermos come on. i am still using the futura's ecu and the fans worked fine prior?????
any suggestions please? gem

hey dude
check you connections obviously.... RELAYS! make sure there not fkd because they can tac together. other than that it could be ur ECU but i doubt it... hopw this helps

I changed back to the temp sensor from the old motor, fitted the new ef xr6 ecu. Both fans still run at max as soon as ign is switched on.

Do a continuity check from your coolant sensor connector to the ecu connector. DG-Y at the coolant sensor goes to pin 38 of the ecu. BL-W at the coolant sensor goes to pin 91 of the ecu. Also check for any codes at the diagnostic connector. Did your XR6 engine come complete with the engine wiring loom up to the connectors? (near the rear of the broad band manifold)

(near the rear of the broad band manifold) I used the original intake manifold/loom just added the xr6 regulator. The only other changes with the swap were new trans fluid lines due to bending the originals, the new lines now go to the radiator bypassing the cooler. broke the supressor wire. Car only starts in nuetral, not sure if it shifter not adjusted correctly or inhibitor switch.
