Hi guys, could i please pick your brains. Ive got an ef xr6 that doesnt want to idle in gear. When driving engine runs ok but when coming to a stop the engine will cut out, aslo will cut out when trying to idle in any gear (p,r,n,d) has only just started doing this today. I have checked for vac leaks quickly didnt find any but i did notice the rotten egg type smell coming from her. Any ideas on what it could be. I was thinking either fuel pressure regulator, 02 sensor or possibly the stepper motor on throttle body. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated

Carry out those simple tests in that thread - don't need the CRO.
You can pull the ECU codes - from memory 411 & 412 are the ISC codes.

Hey snap0964 thanks for all your help. I did all the checks you advised got the 411 code got a 693/694 sensor in the trans got a few more for fuel pressure coolant temp sensor and an ecu code and crank angle sensor, found the cause of all these codes, the bloody harmonic balancer has slid back onto the crank angle sensor, the rubber vibe dampener has come apart/let go. Thanks again mate for your advice it was much appreciated buddy

Well that's good to sort it out in time. If the crank angle sensor pickup goes open cct, the car will stop dead and not go again. Not to mention the damage the belt makes if it should come off a pulley.
