when i changed my ignition leads on my ef it started to missfire every time after ive been giving it sum. is it true that in order to stop this i need genuine ford leads?

Nope i think the only time mine had original leads on it was probably when it came out of the factory. Check you have them on properly and check that they or one of them isnt shorting out. |

there are alot better leads on the market then what ford will sell you, it will have nothing at all to do with the brand you have used if they are the rite leads for your car. Obviously you have mixed a lead up somewhere, if the leads don't have numbers on them number them so you don't mix them up, also make sure they are on properly if you hear a click there on properly

It may also be worth checking you coil pack, as my old EF had similar problems under load (it would miss and f@rt).

If it only started when you changed the leads, they might not be properly attached to the coil or spark plugs. It's a devil of a job getting them to attach securely to the coilpack especially. You should hear or feel a definite 'click' when it hooks up.

the leads are numbered and in the correct order. as i said before it only starts missfiring after a flogging, other wise the car runs fine so the leads are on properly. im starting to think that it could be the coil pack now????
