So I can't wether to mod the xr6 or save up and buy a ba xt.

What's motor would make more power?

What will be faster down the quarter in auto?

I'm looking to spend around about 4K on the E motor or save up and buy a stock ba and leave it stock

i have a EF pretty much stock and just bought a BA XT, the DOHC in the BA is brilliant 182kw standard and delivers it alot smoother. you can get alot of power out of both engine's so its really up to personal choice

Honestly id suggest the BA, they are a better car all over... The power is pretty good standard, but a couple of very cheap mods on them goes a long way if you decide to do a couple things down the track... Also you can pick em up so bloody cheap its not funny...

Why waste $4K on an old EF? It will still be worth nothing.

$4K will just about get you into a nice BA these days, its a no brainer.

I'm here to give sensible advice, not enter a school yard argument with a kid. Good for you though.

Sorry I hurt your feelings

ef 94/95 or ba 02/03/04? BA has about 10 years more refinement + safety features than the Eseries.

and the BA will win stock vs stock down the qtr. plus you get the sport shift thingo.

not much of a hard descicion now is it.

Safety isn't my number one concern asking as its got air bags sweet as, but I'm not looking for bias towards either, i know that the ef and ba with the same power the ef would win due to been lighter

But I don't care about looks I'd rather know what's better proformace wise

I know I wouldn't get my money back on a moded ef, but every ba XT I've looked at is up in the 7-8K mark, If I did buy one id have cash and use the ef as a trade in on it.

So again without been bias, what makes s better car for modding and then bolting a turbo up to it after I get off my Ps

Please don't say get a V8 because I can't stand them

i went from a el ex-persuit v8 to this ba xt v8.

from Eseries to Bseries they are worlds apart. test drive them each back to back and you will see what i mean.

and as for your saying if they were similar power the ef would win. go get yourself a xd/xe then. they would also win if they had similar power coz they are lighter again.

Privately sold BAs are going for around $5k now. I got an 02 AU3 with 180K the other day for $3500 for a friend. Clean too. Just look on gumtree, local paper etc.

A BA xt is hardly unique or exciting, but it will be reliable and nice to drive and own. They are brilliant value now.

it depends on what your driving style is like aswell..
imo ba looks better, stops better, goes better and handles better, so to the everyday person the ba is the winner.

but for the younger or those with less mechanical sympathy, the e series will take more of a beating, a good one can take a thrashing better, cheaper to repair and has better build quality considering the age difference in the 2..
