I have an ef falcon and sombody suggested i swap an xr6 egine into it. Just wondering what differences there are between the au xr6 and ef xr6, or if it's even worth the money.....

AU6 is better bottom end wise.
It won't fit without cutting the K frame or cut and welding the sump.

and being XR doesn't make it 'better'

The blocks are the same for XR motors, the heads make the difference.

The stock ef motor can be easily modded to not warrant fitting an XR6 unit

AU motor has a stronger bottom end an basically no NVH...Noise harshness vibration...The AUxr6 head is also very good.

thats the real question i guess, my car already has; extractors, exhaust, a pod waiting to be put on and a subtle shift kit and it pulls alright. But my friend keeps trying to convience me to buy a manual xr6 but my money would be better spent on cam and valve work, correct?

You can get more out a of a stock head than you can on the XR one.

Sure the XR has larger valves, and bee's d**k bigger cam, but it also has smaller/different shaped ports.

Putting bigger valves in a stock head and then attacking the ports will benefit you more and cost you less.
