Hi all, just a question. I have put EL Tickford 4.0L into my XG. I used XG log manifold but replaced the XG injectors with ones from the EL once I had them cleaned. I have kept the XG fuel rail and fuel regulator and kept XG ECU. I have since replaced the MAP sensor and fuel regulator. Could the different injectors be the cause or contributing to the engine running rough and smoky? I am waiting for an EL auto ECU to arrive and am considering changing log to BBM (which I already have). Any thoughts or input greatly appreciated, thanks.

I believe the injectors are the same so that shouldn't be causing the issue. If you are still running with the log manifold and using the XG ECU, it shouldn't be an issue either.
Check the ignition, make sure you have good spark. Have you checked the base timing? The distributor might be out causing the rough run.

Thanks Phongus, base timing has been reset, still running log manifold and XG ECU. The motor I put in had about 200,000km on it. Exhaust is smoky, but less so when running on LPG. Base timing was set a couple of degrees advanced. Dizzy was from XG. Vacuum leak perhaps? Nothing audible but just guessing at this point.

If it's slightly advanced, try running 95/98 and see if that helps out.
Also what do you mean by smokey? White/black/blue? only when you rev or when idling? Engine cold or at operating temp?
