I got a new distributer installed yesterday, and since then the motor will jerk and run rough at around the 2000rpm mark, for eg: if im sitting at 2000rpm in 3rd gear then put my foot down, there is no instant acceleration, same when its in 4th gear.
any ideas.

plugs are in, but still problem remains.
this is giving me the s**t.
after about 3000 rpm it runs like a dream. its from 2000-3000rpm where it stuters and runs crap.

Lots of things it could be, hard to diagnose over the net. I suggest you take it back the mechanic and tell him to fix it. He shouldn't have even given it back to you if it wasn't running right.

The MPEFI dizzy's have one narrow tooth on the chopper, on the cfi's they are all the same size.

to explain it a bit better its basically a flat spot in the rev range.

it could be your fuel filter
EFI 4ltrs need good fuel pressure to run smoothly

it runs smooth as above 3000 rpm, so i dont think fuel pressure is the problem.
