Hi All,
can anyone give me some ideas on how to get the auxiliary shaft out, the bolt has sheared off. cheers rob |

It is only held in with 2 small hex headed screws though the retaining plate, the plate should still come off even if the head of the screw is sheared off. Aux shaft slides out (make sure that you have removed dizzy first) and then you should be able to work at getting the sheared screw out.

the plate has come off as well and the bolt that holds it in is below flush with back of sprocket. 2 hex nuts came off with ease.

so with sprocket bolt sheared off inside the auxiliary shaft and with plate removed I should be able to slide the auxiliary shaft out. is that correct.

Put 2 bolts of the same thread into the holes where the hex screws were. Gives you something to grip hold of to pull it out. How did you shear the bolt holding the sprocket? |

had no luck as yet. I don't have any thread to catch on the inside of the shaft.

Its the bolt that holds the sprocket on that has sheared. happened while accelerating uphill. just had it at local Auto shop to find leak that I couldn't find. he replaced tensioner o-ring. I assume done it up to tight putting to much pressure on the auxiliary shaft. causing this.

Wrap a screw driver in tape and try and put it down the dizzy hole and use a bit of leverage to slip it out. Be careful not to damage the dizzy port. Use rags to protect things.
Have you pulled the oil drive shaft? If not be careful when using levearge, don't lever against that. |

will give that a go first thing in morning, thought bout that but thought might do damage so didn't attempt it. motor is still in car so room is limited.

no haven't pulled oil shaft out or taken off sump but I will have to that tomorrow to find the locator guide that has fallen there.

You can get the oil drive from the Dizzy hole.
No actual need to remove it, just be careful not to lever against it. |

drilled out shaft just enough to get 12-14mm hole retaped it. put puller on and still no movement from shaft even with pressure on it through dissy hole. any suggestions.

or should I just put a new motor in.
