Similar thing happened at work, one of the salesman jumped started a rav 4 the wrong way and blew 5 different fuses and I had to fix the thing. Have you checked all your fuses? Even the main fuses under bonnet? And as for the air bag light what code is it flashing? The code is displayed by the number of flashes e.g flash............ Flash flash. The first one is 1 and the second is 2 so the code is 12 which is a low battery voltage code. You can reset these codes by earthing out the 4th pin on the top line of the diagnostic connector located in the fuse box at the drivers right knee. If the codes don't clear then you wil have blown the airbag fuse. When replacing airbag fuse disconnect battery for 1 minute to disable the airbag system. When earthing out the pin it will beep 5 times consecutively to indicate the code has been cleared. If it keeps blowing fuses and throwing codes then you might need a new airbag module....

As for the starting problem. Check the 3 things. Fuel, spark, or something mechanical. Doubt it will be the last though. A multimeter will help you diagnose it easier so you can check for power when operating the power windows if you've allready replaced the fuses for them.

Hope you haven't fried any wiring...

This is an easy thing to do when f*&^head Ford designers decide to fit batteries in different models that have opposite polarity - ie. in your ED you have neg near the pwr steer but the battery in EF has pos that side - but otherwise the batteries look nearly the same and are same size etc.(rolleyes). I've NEARLY been caught out myself.

Also I have no idea why the motherf*&^ers went from bolt thru post to USELESS f*&^ing clamp on type terminals - never had dramas with bolt thru type but the clamps on my EF are a constant headache. I'm gonna drill the f&^%ers myself and put 3/16 bolts thru!
