Planning on using a 3" pipe to go from my airbox to throttle body, went down to my local supercheap and autobarn but neither had the parts I needed.

Where abouts could I try to get them? I'm not sure what I would call them for ebay searching

Rather new to the modding scene but feel like getting involved and just needed some help.

Ended up buying this one off ebay.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3-MULTI-FLEXIBLE-COLD-AIR-INTAKE-SYSTEM-PIPE-TUBE-silv-/260841128019?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cbb57c053

Hoping that it works like I think it might, it will keep a nice stockish look.

Anyone ever used or head about these, are that a waste of money?

That is because it comes from Hong Kong.

Looking at the product, I think you will have issues. Looks very thin and flexable. Wonder if tubing will take engine bay heat? Hope for your sake I am wrong.

I have no doubt that you're right about the quality of the product and my concern is with the heat as well.

However doesn't hurt to try new things (assuming it doesn't hurt my car, haha) and it wasn't overly expensive as well.

Try a BA or BF black plastic intake with a short length of 3" stainless pipe to pod filter?

Hey - I am still using that setup to this day come to think of it. Seems to be A.O.K.

I made mine from 3" Alum and Silicone bends and straits (intercooler piping) and is available from any autoparts store..

I do have an issue with bonnet clearance though..

Thats what my original plan was but my local auto shops didn't have any and I didn't want to look like a retard asking for them to order some in.

Guess I'll just have to grow up a little.
