Hey guys,
I know that the EL engine will bolt into the EB and I'm gonna have to sort out things such as pulleys and what not.. a) BBM - I want to keep the BBM (I know the EEC-V's tune will be out etc..) because i will have my MSII running the show at some point, and i know i'll need an ef/el throttle cable but my question lies here.. can i retain my cruise control with the BBM?? b) Serpentine - Can I retain my old AC Compressor or will I need an EF/EL one? Anything else to keep an eye out for? |

ill have a guess
a) if you can swap the cruise cable over to the EF/EL it would work fine (or modify the eb cable) b) I think as long as you swap the mount over to the EF/EL style your OK. I think the compressors are the same but Ill check tomorrow to be sure.

Modify the cable, that what I'm running at the moment, and the cruise works fine

Well,
You could find an Auto EL ecu and fool it into thinking its running the auto by doing the resistor tricks (make it thing the cars in park, make it think the gearbox temp is nominal.. Could also use that as a temporary thing.. I suppose the other solution would be keep your manual ECU, and not use the BBM manifold and find some way to switch the thermos on and off.. Got a few choices but nothings ideal hey |

does it have 140k, full log books, had extra cooling lines tapped into the rear water jacket in the head and registered as a church company car??

Well thats one less problem..
So now you know your options.... Run the old manifold.... or Run the BBM and dont switch it? or leave it open? (no point really?) or Trick an Auto EL ECU and use BBM or use BBM and a manual el ecu! |

When fitting an EL engine into another car, obviously the easiest thing to do short of putting all the EB s**t onto it is to fit the EL ECU.
What's the easiest way to fit the EL ECU? Which looms do i need off the EL and is it plug and play with the correct looms?? |

i thought u could just take the whole EB engine out and chuck the EL engine in and change the ECU?.....like the EL engine with alternator, water pump, AC compressor...etc........into the EB engine bay? gee i feel dumb today

Well yeah man,
Basically i wanna take an el motor with el everything and drop it all in an EB and swap the looms in so i can use the el ecu. I think the EL ecu can just be plugged in but theres a few extra wires .. so why run a bodgy one when you can just have the EL loom? The extra stuff is with the EL motor/ecu is the BBM, the knock sensor and the thermo fans.. |
