just swapping an el xr6 engine into my ef as we speak and as el is distributor and ef is coil pack just wondering if anyone can help me with the right procedure of setting the cam sensor timing correctly into the el block,so far ive got the motor to tdc on compression,locked the keyway on the camshaft sensor and dont seem to be able to get it to go home in what i thought was the right posy,??????any suggestions

its ok,i sorted it out,slight memory blank,had to move the oil pump drive to locate properly

The harmonic balancers are different. EF has a reluctor and EL don't.
The EF has a crank angle sensor on the timing cover, and the EL timing cover don't have the holes tapped in them.

thanks for your info guys but my el engine had the holes in them,they were a bit tight though,but thanks anyway for your suggestions but id already swapped that s**t car runs sweet,just goto tune the gas
