Hi guys and girls, I've just been pondering and googling about while sitting around getting paid... If I were to design and build my own set of extractors for my i6 mont would I have the primaries collecting as such...? (Please excuse the horridness of my drawing, did it with a sketch app on my phone lol)

Blue is for cyl 1+5, red 2+4, green 3+6. That is the correct matching for the primaries yeah? Or have I got my shiz all twisted?

It should be as like the Pacie 4480's.
1 & 6
2 & 5
3 & 4.
Each of those cylinders rise and fall at the same time, but are at different points in the 4 stroke cycle.
One will be at intake, while the partner will be at the power stroke.

Genie do a set of extractors with pairs 1-2, 3-4, 5-6. Apparently they have a pretty good sound.
They are very short, so they probably aren't really designed with pulse tuning in mind.
I'd say their only benefit is smoother pipes compared to the stock manifold.
While maybe not the best design, I doubt they could be worse than the stock manifold.

The pacemaker 4480 design is such that each secondary has one exhaust pulse every 360 degrees of crank rotation.

Buying second hand or brand new? I got my 4480s for about $400 if I remember correctly with new gasket and bolts.

Ebay, or even some forum sponsors, aren't always cheaper. Give some local smaller exhaust workshops. They might want to offload some stock. I can't remember where I bought mine from so can't help you there, but it was a small workshop I found in the local paper.

the thing with these ones, if you read the listing they were used as r&d and they actually have smaller than normal primary pipes compared to normal pacemakers..

That was the original 'comp' design by pacemaker. They revised it later and used larger primaries.

So much for a "happy" birthday.
