Ok picked up a EL Fairmont.
did a service on it few days after i got it, oil , filters etc ever since i got the car it feels like its flooding its self. if i put the foot into it off the line its almost stalls has no power until about 3000rpm. even driving nice its running at 16.7l/100k. my EF used to get 13 and i drove it hard. when i go around a corner it feels like it comletley dies has about 2hp lol. asoon as i straighten up it takes off again. i am a little worried about the gearbox mounts as when i go over a bump, train track etc the shifter shakes around alot more than normal ( auto ). could this be causing it to lose power while turning. Other Q's my mate is wrecking a EF XR6 and it has the LSD, will it fit into my EL with no issues as i have heard the rear suspensions is slitley different on the EL's than the EF, just wondering as he said i could have it. also with the fuel issue i have a spare EF intake manifold that i was going to chrome up. has the regulator and rail injectors etc. i noticed that the injectors on my EL are skinny and the ones of my old EF are more chunky. completely different looking. maybe my EL has wrong injectors??? sorry for all the blah blah would love some help |

+1 on fuel filter and they chew pumps up sometimes too. check obvious things like spark and fuel before getting too worried maybe clean your injectors.

if the injectors look different swap them over mate, someone may have put the wrong type on and they are flooding the car, still doesnt fix your problem about when you go around corners

Injectors:
They look like AU ones. Tail Shaft: Theres nothing wrong with it, its called a Slip Yoke, as the diff goes up and down the tailshaft needs to be able to 'move'.

...this may seem stupid, but did you put the fuel filter in the right way? If you put it in backwards it won't be very good on fuel. Also O2 sensor can be a contributor to your fuel issues. Check for any vacuum leaks as well.
Regarding cornering and losing power, you might have an electrical problem with a loose cable some where? Or fuel pump might be buggered with a dodgy pick up?

the ef diff will go in, just need to swap the rear part of the handbrake cable and EF upper control arms as they will be longer
the watts link sits a bit different but doesnt really matter too much you can change the diff hat if you really want to, so as the watts links is in the correct posistion |

ok put the ef injectors on it today and the top half of the manifold that i had cleaned from another car.
took it for a spin and its so much better. will take it for a cruise later and see what the fuel is like but so far so good, does not try and stall when i take off, it actually span up the wheels when i gave it to her off the line woot. |
