hey all

i went to bunnings today car was fine

got back to car park and car wouldnt start.

theres nothing . doesnt turn over or click or anything . i think the fuel pump primes thats about it .its just dead .

i was thinking inhabitor switch ?

any ideas

Lol I'm going through the same thing with the EF. Try turning the key and whacking the dash above your left knee at the same time. If she starts it the BCM playing up. Some say you can get 'em fixed but I'm just gonna live with it for now 'til I get another from the wreckers.

Run the gear shift up and down a couple of times from P to 1 and back, then put back in P.

Also try starting in Neutral.

Have you tried swapping over the starter relay up next to the battery with one from the headlights, relay could be stuffed...also check the little red positive trigger wire to the starter motor hasn't come loose...

ve tired all the basic stuff .fuses . Relays , change from p to 1st n and so on . .
I havnt tried swaping relays on pulled them out . And i havnt tried tapping the starter motor either

Hey, i just had the same problem with my EL fairmont ghia
Started out not starting in P but would start in N, a week or so later would not start
I replace my neutral start switch on side of transmission and have not had a problem since

If the starter motor overs when the CRT LP fuse is pulled, then that's most likely a dry joint in the BEM with smartlock.
Use a jumper wire at the inhibitor switch plug on the starter relay wires (black/green from memory ??) - obviously if it motors over, then the switch is suspect.
