Yet another issue...
When I start my EL Falcon when it is cold, it feels as though it is about to stall until I tap the throttle a little, then it's fine thereafter. If I start I while warm, it starts fine. Also, when stationary, if I turn the lights or wind down the front power windows, the revs drop a little. Is this a common problem? |

Two problems sound unrelated.
The latter could be a battery on its way out or most likely an alternator issue. How old is your battery?

I've only had the car for a coupl of months now... I was thinking either the battery or alternator for one of the issues.
I have no idea about the other issue though - how it keeps on wanting to stall upon starting when cold :-/ |

I would recomened you clean the throttle body with some cleaner, first,
I would also check you battery and alternator output, If its been cold where you are, batteries hate the cold, We sell more batteries starting at the first frosty morning,

I've given the throttle body a good clean with some throttle body cleaner several times over the last couple of weeks, so it should still be relatively clean.
I'll have to test the battery output & charging capacity of the alternator, but will probably just end up replacing the battery as it does sound as though it is starting to give up (engine doesn't turn anywhere near as quick while starting the first time for the day). |
