Hey all, I just purchased a set of clear taillights and was wondering whether there are special coloured bulbs that you have to get for them to make them street legal? Cheers

that would depend on whether there were coloured reflectors in them or plain ones if there is no sign of any colour inside then i'd say you need coloured globes - readily avail. at most car spares mobs.

clear tailights are illegal unless they have the red reflector in the factory position. ebay EF/L ones don't but the ebay EB/D ones do. so the EB/D ones are legal. EF/L aren't

I still see alot of people getting around with the Clear EF/EL ones so it musnt be a big issue, if i had an EL i would buy them and take the risk !

yeah seen lots of clear tail lights from the EF/EL Range...
From what I recall...Whats most important is a reflector. And It doesn't have to be red. Since the clear tail lights have a reflector, I think they are legal. |

EF/L aren't one thing i did find out, the eb/d ones are also illegal. even with the red reflecter. to be legal they must have i think 3 things, (for clear lights) must be red in colour, (not pink) must have red reflecter and also must show red around the globe, so it can be seen without the globe lighting up. im not sure why or reason, but thats the rules, most newer cars with factory clear tail lights will show this if you dont understand me fully. thanks |

No, if you look at the VX? Commo the reflectors are sunk into the rear bumper.
There has to be one on each side, but thats about it. |

Trusting an info sheet written by someone who hates cars is like asking a cop to hold onto your bong while you do the RBT. Either way, your fuct. Seriously dude, research the applicable ADR's and you will find out EXACTLY what is required to be legal.
