Got a weird Problem with my EL, recently had the fuel pump die on me so i swapped it out for a new one and she was good to go, now when the tank is getting close to empty (around when the light comes on) the car will just randomly loose power completely for a second then it comes back on as the revs drop down. and it does it at random intervals until i fill it back up. I can induce it cutting out by getting the revs up (typically in first, it does it in second too) and when the revs drop back down the engine cuts back in.
I can flog it as hard as i like when the tank is full and i cant get it to cut out... i've been through 3 tanks of petrol now with no change, no idea whats going on. any ideas or ask questions if this explanation makes no sense. cheers EDIT: i should also mention i have earthed the diagnostics to get the fuel pump to run, it's fine. It primes and starts perfectly every time, i also checked the relays and fuses and cleaned them up. |

Nah it was exactly the same as it sits in the cradle, i mean could be a mm off but i don't see how that would make it cut out like that, I've been told it might be the sock is on the wrong angle & fuel sloshing but i'm skeptical, i just don't know. i'd prefer to have a very good idea what it could be before attempting to get to the pump again as it wasnt fun...

Hi,
Dont run it low. When you do the pump runs hot and is more prone to failure.
