Theres an EL GT snorkel up for grabs on Ebay at the moment. I was wondering if this is worth getting as compared to something like a XR snorkel?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Ford-Falcon-EF-E ... dZViewItem

Thats the link, thanks!

The best ones to get are the AU T series snorkels (or so the bloke at ford spare parts told me). He said that it is the largest one. Mine cost me $39 a year ago. This one at the moment is $31 plus $10.50 postage, and there is still more than half a day to go.

From Ford Parts store in melbourne (City Ford), a el gt/xr8 snorkel costs $45, but some other way people can get them for $35 with some sort of discount, like not a workers discount i don't know what it is.
From Westpoint Ford in Hoppers Crossing they wanted i think around $60 (through email enquiry) i don't know why it was more, but shouldn't the prices be the same, unless different owners or ones dedicated for parts more and has a cheaper price.

I have mentioned the prices above and those figures were from a couple of months ago, possibly early 2006.

TFI, email a parts enquiry at City Ford Melbourne and see how much they ask for the el gt/xr8 snorkel. Please let me know to see how the prices have changed or whatever. If you want.

Gives around an extra 5kW gain if used in conjunction with a K& N filter

went to ford the other day to enquire about this. and they said the normal 8 cylinder snorkel is the same as the GT/XR8 snorkel. Wasnt overly convinved though.

looks very similar to the one i just replaced on my car just the other week.

I ended up getting a ss inductions cold air id set up.

Holding my old XR8 snorkel it does look identical so i wouldnt get it. (btw 6 and 8 cylinder air boxes are the same through ef and el). Better off getting the au tickford snorkel for that price.

SS snorkels are good, but not worth it for the price. I put the T series snorkel on mine, think it cost me about $40 from memory from ford spare parts, and no it will not give u 5 kw

Thats the one that I have in mine, the GT snorkel, is much bigger is the piping to the box then the standard, dont notice too much of a difference though.
