Hi all, I have a EL Futura wagon with a stocko head unit that wont turn off once engine has stopped and key is out, instead you have to do it manually. Then when you start ign again you have to turn back on manually. Any ideas on what it could be or how to fix??

Thanks

This only started happening last week, it worked fine before and there was no work done on the car for it to be the wiring.

there will be some sort of connection or short there, on head units there is normally a wire for constant power to retain the memory direct to the battery, and a wire for accessories to feed power when the ignition is turnet to acc so if they are somhow touching the radio isnt going to turn off

I had the same problem in my EL. The radio would not turn on with the car and would not turn off with the car once it was on!

It was a short in my cigarette lighter. I just unplugged it from behind and it fixed it fine.

Took me forever to find it...

Try that!

The cables go in from the back of the lighter. Take out the ash tray and try and get in from behind. I managed to pull my entire cigarette lighter barrel out without having to take apart the ash tray bay....just fiddle around....let me know how you go and if no luck i'll take photos for you

Thanks guys for ya help.... after pulling ciggy lighter out and testing I decided maybe I should check the fuse. AND GUESS WHAT.... that was the problem all the time.

I just assumed that the HU would not work at all if fuse was broken, remember to check the small things first!!!!!!!
