Ok so I have the chance to pick up a complete tickford head with aftermarket cam from an ef for $100. But mine being a hybrid engined car, what is needed to swap the heads over? Straight swap or what? And how costly so I know wether it's worth doing.

Head change is a straight swap over.
You can't use the Hybrid cam/rockers on the EF Head. Does the head come with rockers? If so, then you will be fine, if not you will need to source some. You will need to have the head skimed to ensure it is flat. You will need to check cost on skimming, varies depending on who is doing it. Also you will need new head bolts ($40), head gasket (price depends on type you are using), intake gasket ($20), Exhaust Gasket ($20), etc. Probably cheaper to get as VRS kit, around $70 - $80 for a set with a composite type head gasket (does not include head bolts). |

Head is fully complete. Literally just removing the head bolts and taking it off. Was hoping I wouldn't have to swap timing chain or anything so that should be cheaper than I was expecting. Only doing the swap as this opens up cam choices so I don't have to get a custom grind.
