Ride: EL XR6

Location: albion park, wollongong
NSW, Australia

Putting my engine back together , crank, pistons and aux shaft is in .
One issue is the timing marks don't line up when at tdc.

Here's where the crank mark is at tdc .

I line the 2 marks up as it should be .
Piston is 3/4 of the way down the bore .

That's not how it works.

There are coloured links on the stock chain that you use with those marks.
It sets up like an AU.

You need to stop, go and buy the needed reference materiel and learn what you are meant to be doing before you pick another spanner.

It might sound harsh but the number of times I've had to fix f**k ups that i'll prepared people with no knowledge or skill cause is frikkin huge. Even a $50 shop manual will teach you what you need to know.
I really don't get why people think it's a good idea to fly blind into this stuff and then pray the internet will save them.
