Sorry P100, I saw the truck in your sig and made assumptions..
I don't know about rapidshare, but I've used this: https://www.foldershare.com/welcome.aspx foldershare is a free MS tool that works well with files at least 350 MB. (just checked rapidshare.. they have a limit of 200mb.) works great, Mike sent me a manual using it.. but unfortunately it was the Elleries one that I already have in hard copy.. so didn't help... but was a good test for foldershare as it was 350MB in size.. all you have to do is exchange foldershare email address and share them in the foldershare settings and it all happens encryped in the background. |

Are you adapting a BBM to work with an EA-ED engine harness?
If you are, just use the EB log manifold loom, and adapt it to work on the BBM manifold. Much easier. My build thread has some details on how to do this. If not, good luck to you. Cheers BenJ

Hi BenJ
Yes, I agree that getting the EL motor working with EA wiring would be easier by just using a modified EA harness.. But I don't think it's the best choice in my case... The engine is total and complete EL... and so is the ECU (and I've added all the wiring to the ECU block plug, not just the ones need to get it working.) I eventually plan to get as much of the functionality out of the EL ghia setup as I can. That includes things like the ECU controlled thermos... which will be simplier with the factory loom in place I think. I've I had the EL dash like you do.. I'd have just grabbed the whole EL loom and installed it in my EA.. but I like my digital dash and they didn't do that in the EL. (I did think about putting the EA cluster into an EL dash and see if I could get it working, but that sounds like even harder work than I'm doing now.) I can get EL motors cheap as chips. so I'm not terribly worried about blowing an engine.. I do want the changeover to be as simple as possible.. and that means not having to swap looms each time.. the way I am doing it.. the EL loom block plug has EA-ED plugs on the other end and can directly interface the two... nice and simple and it accounts for the Extra stuff that the ea loom doesn't do.. (like BBM and thermos.) |

This is where I am now...
Feel free to jump in people.. when fiinished, this (and the ed one I'm doing next) will be helpful resources here. First colour is the main wire colour, second is the stripe. Code: EL Falcon engine loom colours
------------------------------------- Black/Yellow Air temp Yellow Black/Green Yellow/Green TFI Lt blue Pink White Black Grey/White ISC Pink/Grey Pink/Grey White/Yellow White/Green Cam sensor Green White/Red Grey/White Red/Green ignition to O2 and ign module Pink/Blue Red (small) Red (large) Black/blue White INJ 2 ?? black Orange/black Map & Throttle sensor common Green/Yellow Water Temp Green/Black Throttle pos Red (small) White/Blue Pink/Blue TFI Tan/White Brown TFI White Green/Grey Black/White Water Temp/Air/knock/map Tan/Yellow EL Loom 2 Pink (large) Pink (large) Pink/Black Pink/Green Red/Blue Red/Black Green Black/White Pink (small) Pink/Orange Black/Green White Yellow/Green Orange/White Blue Red (small) Red (large) Yellow (small) Green/Violet BBM Some of those have been verified by multimeter on the engine, most are just from looking at the schematics and matching up colors. Max Ellery's manuals are really really bad for accuracy.. particularly with regards to the schematics. Hayes are heaps better, but not perfect. The manual I bought online arrived for the EL, and its a friggin Elleries asw well, so I'm no better of than I was before. (except that my Walbor GS342 has arrived today as well... sweet) This is harder than I was expecting.. but only have to do it once right? Can anyone fill in any of those? rgds Frank |

I've looked for A gregory's for an EL.... not found one yet.
Tomorrow I'm going to pull out the old EA wiring loom and figure out how the injectors and stuff is wired in.. that will hopefully teach me enough to fill in a heap more of the wiring chart as the injectors can't have changed or the EL computer wouldn't be running my ED motor atm. would have been nice if someone else had adapted the harness before me.. but what they hell.. its not brain surgery, just time consuming and fiddly when you don't have the appropraite documentation. |

Cheers.............

Just spent an hour trying to clean the image up so I can see all the colours accurately.. I have 3 different versions now.. all more readable for different areas.
I could almost go out in the shed and work now.. despite it being nearly 3am... |
