Hi all,
I have just started making a block plug adaptor between the EL block and the EA-ED harness... Turns out however that there are only 13 wires on the two EA/ED plugs, but there are over 29 of them on the EL block plug.. I'm gonna need to know what the EL ones are in order to wire this up. My main reason for doing this rather than a custom loom, is that I want to be able to swap in EL motors easily if I ever blow this one with the M90, so being able to grab one complete and just plug it in would be a definate benefit. I think my EA/ED manual covers the EA=ED side of things, so I just need a schematic of the EL motor to enable me to wire them together. Can anyone help? rgds Frank |

Anyone?
I just bought an EL manual online, but have to wait for delivery now.. would like to have the loom ready to go by then... I suppose I could sit down with my multimeter on the old loom and see what is going where.. but a schematic would be faster. |

Thankyou P100.. I think that will help..
What I've started doing today was setting the multimeter to continuity beep.. and pulling off plugs and sensors on the EL motor and then finding where the wiring ends in the block plugs.. then label them with a pen and masking tape. When I have all the ones I can think of, I should be able to do the same with the ED and join the two up. End result will hopefully be a plug and play adapter for EL motors to EA loom. It's really slow going though.. only done about 6 wires on the EL so far. |

yeh. i'd be a slow process :S
i got a EL intake manifold here with the plugs on it. and complete loom for the ECU --> Manifold. thats if ur chasing a spare manifold/loom to play with.

What manual was that from ?
I'vr got a max elleries for the EA-ED side of things, but I don't trust the color codes in that book cos I've seen it make mistakes before. Surpring that fordmods doesn't have a color coded loom tute for these cars up... we will have when I finish this.. |

Ohhh... so you have the electrical diag from the EA-ED in factory ford manual?
Could I possibly bother you for a shot of that? I've had a good read of the elleries one, and I think it's full of cr@p.. |

(has pictures which help) but i have added the list of pinouts and what they do to help with that.

My man... you are a legend..
I think that I have enough info here to do this... it will still take ages because I'm gonna test it with the multimeter at each stage.. but being able to look up the colors first means I don't have to test 37 wires to find the one I want. Only bit I'm confused about at this point is how the wires for the injectors are done at the plug. (batch injection.. but now many batches? ) but I'll work it all out. thanks again.. you and huggybear have made this job much easier for me. (huggiebear sent me an old TFI module to cutup and use for my remote TFI install.) regards Frank |
