hi all i have a problem i am in the process of putting an el motor into my ef fairmont and i have swapped the fuel injection wirring harness and now have noticed a plug coming out of the timing cover, what is this? for and do i need it? do i have to change timing cover aswell?

around the middle of the cover. if im not mistaken its the crank sensor. easier to do out of the car. wouldnt imagine they'd be different.

Your EF crank sensor and harmonic balancer will bolt straight on to your EL motor.
No need to change the timing cover. Fit a new crank seal to the timing cover tho.

dumb question but, couldnt u put your ef injection stuff on the el motor and revert it to coil pack and f**k the dizzy off,
hell of alot easier and less stuffing around, instead of rewiring nearly the whole engine bay Theres f**k all diff between the dizzy and the coil pack for preformance unless you wanna beable to set the timing your self

Just a quick question, if you swapped all the injection s**t over etc, im guessin you will be running the el ecu in the ef,
