A while back I fitted a second hand 4.0L motor into my EL. The motor came from a running NL and I had heard the engine run but since installing it into my car nothing has worked. My car had factory fitted LPG which I had disabled late 09. The car had been working fine prior to the motor swap with the exception of a timing chain issue hence the swap.

I used the wiring that came with the motor and the wiring on the car remained stock except for 3 wires being extended. I have been threw and check everything is hooked up and made sure all earths are good. I have tried to start the car with 3 different batteries, checked and changed fuses and relays, checked the starter, swapped and trained ecu's and bcm's and even removed a DF cluster and refitted a stock gli cluster and all with no luck.

When the ignition is turned on the fuel pump works. The clusters both fail to display fuel level and possibley oil pressure and odometer/trip meter LCD displays dont work. I also dont see any smart lock light and the interior light fuse is fine but the light doesnt work when I refit a bulb.

So what could be the cause. Are the wiring looms form LPG and non LPG cars compatible? Is there anything else that I can check or would it be easier to chase up replacement wiring looms?

You've blown the MAIN fuse in the enginebay.

Wouldnt a blown main fuse cut all power to everything?

good point, maybe its ign. that kills power to the LCD display when blown, ie: provides power to the fuel pump relay.

did you check anyways?
