Hey guys as the title states my el isn't starting.... It's got fuel, spark and pulse to the injectors and is also cranking fine. So it can't be smartlock. I have just put in a new fuel rail with injectors and reg thinking it was that but to no avail :(

Does anyone have any clue as to what else it could be? The fuel pump is also fine I tested it when the fuel rail was out.

Thanks in advance

Stale fuel?.. has it sat for a long time? How much fuel pressure is actually there? Replaced fuel filter as may not be enough pressure?

Are you cirtain it has spark when cranking? Use a timing light on all leads and get someone to crank it while you check,

It has me stumped also if everything you have said is correct..

My guess is stale fuel.. siphon the tank and put some fresh 98 in her.

check for codes - check map sensor blue/yellow wire - frequency on multimeter 150/160 KHZ with ignition on -what is fuel pressure & delivery rate - TFI module can be faulty and still spark ie. fires at wrong time - aux shaft ? -

Just asking the interior light working correctly ? in same rare cases i have seen them wind over for some reason but not fire, and the interior light fuse blows and causes it to stop, usually you just get no wind over, but just something to check.

Would try run it off carby clean or a little be of something in the throttle body and if you get it running like someone mentioned all good, failed ignition coil ?

Should have read it fully, you did not cross the return and incoming supply lines incorrectly when you done the fuel rail ?

Bit of an update. Interior light is working fine I took the rocker cover off the check the valve timing seems all good I wound it to TDC and the rotor on the dizzy was pointing between 3-4 and when I took the rotor off the whole dizzy shaft span freely.... This makes me think that the dizzy gears or the aux shaft has been chewed out???? But if that were the case I didn't think it would spark on all cylinders??? I'm going to pull the dizzy out tomorrow to have a sus. Hopefully I'm onto something.

Thanks for all the help

Double check the cap, rotor, button etc. also spark test all the leads

Found the problem... Aux shaft chewed all it's gears out also found my oil pump is gone and my timing tensioner is broken also. I'm thinking it might be cheaper to find a second hand motor to drop in....

Oil pump runs off the dizzy which runs off the aux shaft. Motors better off replaced once those bits of metal go through everything.
Was it a genuine bosch dizzy? Cheapo dizzy gears dont fit 100% and eventually flog out the aux shaft
Reason there was still spark is because it probably spun intermittently but out of time.
