Hey guys got an 97 EL falcon, was driving and noticed it wasnt driving quite right, like it was struggling when just idoling.
Anyways I was driving goto a roundabout and put the brakes on then my car just died.
Started again straight away so that was lucky.

Just wondering why this may have happened.
Motor is pretty much stock, no mods, Auto

280,000km just had a service a couple months back.
Any ideas or help would be great
thanks

How does it idle at other times? It could be a dirty idle speed control valve. If its gummed up, it will be unable to vary idle bypass air (when the main throttle plate is on the stop) as the powersteering load increases.

Good doc in the resources area on how to clean it.

ok did what was suggested above but still wasn't driving right so I kept my one on the taco as i was dring to see what it was doing.

Ok so when I am driving around normally car drives fine, when I go to slow down for a corner or what not my cars rev's drop to almost 0 on the limit of stalling then jump back up to around 1000 or so again then idles like normal again.

Any ideas?
TFI maybe?

thanks

Got a tech doco on this?
Also I miss wrote what I was trying to say above, meant to say drops to the point of almost stalling then to 1000ish then back to normal. About 700ish I think if i am stopped at say a stop sign or something.
