Hi all,
Am probably asking a real dumb question, but am about to do my timing cover, and noticed the gasket kit includes a large and a small aluminum washer, last time i performed this job i put them aside and didnt have any problems, but am curious as to what they are? Have searched through the relevant timing cover and cam replacement threads, but cant find any reference to it. any help would be appreciated.

large washer would not be for the cam gear? small washer would not be for the upper chain guide?
Dunno know mate, without any inducation of what your "large" and "small" washers are its hard to say. We talking like a 10c piece and a 20c piece sort of size of large or smaller? how thick? throw a vernier on it and give us an ID and OD and we could perhaps help more. Right now your question is how long is a piece of string and how much more or less do I need and whats it actually for... Sorry I could not be more helpful.
