as i stated in a previous post i have been doing some minor work on my car and xince then the bastard wont start.
All i have had off is the big rubber elbow (with Ford printed on it) that connects the plastic air intake snorkle to the throttle body. Ten i renoved the Idle Speed Control (ISC) cleaned it out, put it back on and took the thing that goes on the end of the butterfly shaft and realised that this part isnt serviceable so i put it back on. The rubber elbow was off all night and when i finished reasembleing the car would turn over but not fire up. PLEASE HELP ME.[/b] |

after having difficulty to read your post i think i know what your talking about.
have you checked that you've plugged evrything back in?

have you aligned the TPS properly? (the non-serviceable part)

ive only uplugged 2 plugs the ISC and the other thingy (non serviceable part and realigned the part so as when it is supplied with power it opens the butterfly alittle.

If the odo lighty isn't working, you caould have somehow blown the main fuse in the engine bay.
Check to see if its blown, if it is, relocate the abs fuse (same value) and try cranking.

ok i forgot to say that it turns over but wont fire up....
could the sensors or computer have shut down and need some type of clearing or resetting??? |

If main is blown, engine will crank, but it wont fire. You may have killed the coil (or it died at this time) The module on the dissy might have died also. Go over everything twice, even disconnect the battery Im sure theres a logical answer! ps. where are you located?

You need to check 2 major things to eliminate this as a small problem.
1. Whether it sparks. 2. Whether it pumps fuel. Get a Phillips head screwdriver and put it in the end of spark lead #1, and position the screwdriver so there is a small gap for a spark to jump across. Crank the engine and see if it sparks. If yes, try it on the 4th lead for good measure (to test if the dizzy is turning). If yes, it sparks fine, that's not the problem. Then, grab a suitable container to hold fuel, disconnect the hose to the fuel rail, and put the end of the hose in the container. Turn the key to ignition. There should be a small amount of fuel that has been pumped into the container. If not, check the fuses, relays, and fuel pump. If it is neither of them, it is most likely a fuse somewhere, or you haven't plugged something back in.
