I'm confused now , so can I replace the window seal without replacing then whole windscreen ? Glass etc?
I'll have to look into it more, hopefully it's in the Gregory's manual

Sika? The black stuff up the top?
It can't be the boot seal ?? The dirty water marks are coming from up behind a panel near the wheel arch.

I'm thinking it's up the top of the window and running down . But I can't see it . Only at the bottom

Sikaflex, um, like a urathane sealant.
Yea the black stuff, if it is sika I'm fairly sure it's not ment to be there.
Wonder what's under that.

There's nothing under it . It's between the rear quarter panel and another panel inside the body .
I'm guessing it's not from factory so what's it doing there . Might sus that out tomorrow

Just to make sure the rear windscreen is sealed, spray some watered down car wash around the outside of the windscreen seal, then from inside, blow some compressed air at the edge of the 'screen, and see if you can see any bubbles on the outside to indicate if the window is not sealed.
I have seen this first hand when the knob fitting the 'screen at the Ford plant didn't use enough sealer......when you remove the 'screen and you how much they use....fvckall.....seen this on previous models too....EA to EL.

Well I lifted up the boot carpet this morning and there is water up towards the tail light now . What I'm going to do is rip all the boot carpet out then make sure its all dry then keep an eye on it . To see where else its coming from .

Eureka I found the leak . So happy now . So sick of it leaking.
Well I got in the boot shut the lid and looked up to where I thought it was leaking I tried cutting some of the black s**t away then for some reason I stopped and looked up the back of the boot towards the tail lights . The water had run up to near the tail lights and started to pool. But then I thought maybe it's coming from the tail lights ?
Then I looked at some sealer and yup drip drip drip . It's actually coming in pretty fast .
So I'm assuming that when I damaged it I pushed the panels apart and caused a leak. Now to patch it up. Any suggestions how and what to use ?

Ok so now I know how it's leaking . The dodgy C*** panel beaters didnt seal it properly .
There's a hole underneath where the triangle part at the back is. So the water from the boot channel runs off , straight into this hole , then runs down where the panels are sandwiched together then when it hits the silicon is runs over the top of it and pools in the boot . I put a rag in the boot channel to see if my theory is correct . The leak stopped , took it away . Started to leak , so I'll put a blob of silicon in the hole and all should be sweet .

The proper stuff to use is 3M Dripcheck Sealer...... http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/3 ... AA300_.jpg

If the silicone you use is a non-neutral cure, it will actually cause rust.

The silicone is acetic cure ( spelling ) .
So this will rust ? Is it short or long term rusting?
I hope it's not rusted bad tomorrow , I scrap it all off and use the 3m stuff, what's good to remove silicon ? Like something that dissolves it as its inside the body which will be hard to scrape out .

Well at least the leaks stopped .

Carby cleaner or brake cleaner will soften up the silicone. Takes a few applications though.....or spray into a rag, and hold it where the silicone is for about 60 secs, do this a few times....it will soften.
