ok how would a el xr6 cam go in a stock ea,,i mainly want it to pick up between idle and about 4000 rpm. and a bit over every now and then.

Be careful which EL cam you have because the one from the hybrid engine will not fit the EA. March 98 and onwards. I am unsure of the cam part no. though but someone else might be able to help you

You might need the XR6 ECU....unsure but maybe someone else knows. I'm sure if its tuned properly then you wont need it

afaik there are no Hybrid EL XR's.

s**t i hope not,,i may just look for a standard ef/el cam,,i can't afford a lot money..

Wade cams are fairly similar to the tickford cams.. Shims don't make it that much more complicated!

are you sure there are no XR6 hybrids because i emailed ford and they confirmed that my car which is an EL xr6 has the hybrid head no.

Yeah there's hybrid versions of both stock and XR I6's.

Hybrid I6's have a head code starting if 96DA.
Hybrid XR I6's have the code 96DT.

when i rebuilt the engine in dads EB i used my spare EF xr6 cam.
straight swap with stock ECU.
it didn't pick up any bottom end power at all. but it revs out alot stronger.

rolling start with a VP V6 manual it was dead even untill i got 3rd gear, just pulled away from him very easily
