hey guys just wanna clear some things up got a problem with the car it seems to cut out when it gets hot and sometime it wouldn't cut out at all. so far its cut out twice. after its cut out the wont start unless its cool down a little then it will fire up again. I've replace the coil and it still has the same problem so im guessing its gotta be the TFI module of the side of the dizzy causing the issue. can anyone tell if it can be anything else or have i guess what the problem is?

I would say TFI if it has never been changed.
I also had engine cut outs when the J3 kept falling out (even when taped up, although with hot weather the gaffa tape runs).

Some manufacturers of Falcon dizzy's say that you must replace the coil too, for warranty.

You can still get genuine Bosch distributors for under $150. Though they are not going to do another manufacturing of them.
If it's still the original dizzy, chances are the bushes and shaft are worn too. |

Hey just wondering where does the rotor button point to when u reset the timing not sure if it points to the start line or the finish line on the dizzy bottom black cap. Ive got the tfi module on but I forgot where the rotor button was pointing too

before you push it down the rotor points to start, once you push it down the rotor will turn slightly and ends up on the finish..

if you take the rotor button off and the black piece you will see a notch on the top edge of the distributor that is the no one mark ,
here is the way i do it ,remove the air box & the thermo fans popthe dizzy cap off & manipulate it out of the way now turn the crank 21 or 22 mm i think until the timing mark on the pully (harmonic balancer) with the mark on front cover remove the rotor button & the black plastic piece now put the button back on & mark on the dizzy were the button is pointing ,if it is pointing at the engine turn the crank a full turn till the marks line up again & the button is pointing towards the notch ,mark with a black marker exactly were it is pointing .now remove & just have the button point at the pen mark when you refit |
