Hi Guys,
I've been told that engine mounts in my ELXR6 will probably need replacing (car has done 217k). I have the round hydraulic type mounts, as apposed to the square solid rubber mounts. I've had a look and they don't appear to be perished both look exactly the same, I don't feel any extra vibration when at idle, no engine slap when changing gear etc. I took a photo of the mount that is under the intake manifold, I notice both have a rubber ring on the bottom that is detached and spins freely is this normal? Can anyone else post a pic of a new mount from EL that I can compare or even on car?

My handl brake won't hold , I sometimes get slight vibration at low revs , could be engine mounts ?

When I come to a stop at traffic lights the exhaust vibrates on the body , it's only a slight vibration . I had the exhaust modified to clear the body but still rattles the slightest bit .
When I give it a rev it goes away

When they go they collapse and sink down and rest metal on metal. Passenger side is usually ok, what doe the drivers side look like. This is the side that usually gives out due the heat from the exhaust. |

The passenger side one is always good, check the driver's side one too see if it's metal on metal or resting on that rubber seperation pad. I paid about $120 for these square type ones as mentioned above, which were fitted too lates series 2 Hybrid 98 model EL Falcons. These can handle the heat from pacemaker extractors.. Kelpro part # (mount) MT8370, (bracket) MTB8370
